Country superstar Martina McBride will perform a sold out show at the Jackson Theater in Punxsutawney on Friday, Sept. 18, Members of her fan club and global charity, Team Martina, will be lending a hand at a rummage and bake sale sponsored by Lisa’s Ladybugs, a local organization that provides support to families stricken by cancer, (a cause very close to Ms. McBride’s heart) The event will take place on show day across from the theater at 220 North Jefferson Street from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Participants will be helping to sort merchandise and other general duties. “The thing about Team Martina that makes it so unique is that it was really started by the fans,” the four time CMA female vocalist of the year said in a recent CBS interview. “Music is powerful. It can heal, inspire and motivate.” Team Martina is committed to making the world better through volunteerism and the power of music. It has raised over $250,000 supporting causes ranging from cancer research to a school in Guatemala for abused girls.
